The French public investment bank (Bpifrance) provides a guarantee: the principal is guaranteed up to 60%, as part of their program to support SMEs business development projects. If the company goes into insolvency proceedings, Bpifrance will partially reimburse the lenders on behalf of the company. The guarantee will not apply if the loan fails within 9 months after the financing.
